Kenny and Lacey met in Dublin, TX in 2009 and later married in 2011. Lacey joined Kenny in youth ministry at The Church for the Lost and Found in Dublin, where they also participated in music and drama ministry. Kenny managed Old Doc’s Soda Shop and held a seat on the Economic Development Corporation board of Dublin. Lacey was a private voice and piano instructor and also worked as a freelance writer and social media manager. In 2015, they brought the most precious baby girl into the world, Layla.
As of October 2016, they became Assemblies of God missionary associates to Guatemala. They worked with ChildHope (formerly Latin America Child Care) to provide education, food, clean water, and the knowledge of HOPE in Jesus Christ to children and families across the country of Guatemala.
In March of 2020, The Hortons became fully-appointed missionaries with the Assemblies of God. They are now the country coordinators for ChildHope. In September of 2020, they welcomed a sweet, baby boy into the family. Elliot Silas has been a joyful addition to the family.
Furthermore, The Hortons are now working with the university ministry, Open+, which is part of the RedU network. Open+ is a brand new organization that seeks to engage students on the university campus in intentional relationships, with the desire of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Open+ is mobilizing Christian university students with the tools they need to lead weekly small groups and disciple new followers through one-on-one mentoring. Also, Open+ strives to serve the local church in preparation for unique, new believers and give back to the community in times of crisis. Click here to find out more!
